I began blogging in 2005 when I was a stay at home mom of 2 young boys. I needed an outlet and this blog was a way to keep in touch with family and friends and share our daily life. In 2007, my husband and I welcomed one more child to complete our family, a little girl. I dove into all types of creative pursuits, homeschooling our little family and through sharing our life I found that connection to others. I enjoyed sewing, baking, painting, drawing, photography and eventually discovered the love of teaching fitness. I became a group fitness instructor, then a yoga teacher and finally a personal trainer.
As technology changed and I discovered Facebook and Instagram, blogging took the back burner. It was easier to connect through the apps and take photos on my phone instead of with my Nikon and then uploading to the computer and then writing a long blog post and adding photos.
In 2017, we moved from North Florida to North Virginia to start a new life. We enrolled the kids in public school, Jay started a new job in an office and I started working as a personal trainer. We immersed ourselves into our new life and enjoyed the change and the new friends.
It’s 2020, 15 years after I started this blog. Everything is different, but sort of the same. Jay is working from home again, the kids are homeschooling again and I am a stay at home mom again. I am drawn to the space once again to connect and find an outlet.
I’m here to share our life and our journey.
