On Wednesdays, we have other homeschooling friends over to our house and their Mom gets a free day to herself. I get a free day on Fridays. It’s a pretty sweet deal and one we Moms look forward to.  The kids also think it’s a pretty sweet. They come in the morning and stay until the afternoon. A day full of playing outside, playing in the Lego Room, playing Minecraft on the Xbox and sometimes rolling out a big piece of paper on the floor and going to war.

They call these battles Doodle Wars. They are all armed with pencils and their imagination. Space ships, robots, missiles, pirates, and giant stick men with axes. That is what they draw.

Then, they act out the battle and decide who wins and loses. I love listening to them while they are in full battle mode. It can get pretty intense. This is by far one of my favorite ways that we learn.
